GPConnect

GPConnect is powered by Synapxe (formerly known as IHiS) and has a company size of 23 within Synapxe. GPConnect is a clinic management system that adopts a software application-based platform that is installed into individual computer systems (and this differs from the majority of the CMSes currently available in the market which are web-based). Another unique feature of the GPConnect platform is that it has 2 separate systems / modules: the “CMS” module which manages inventory, registration, bill processing and the “EMR” module which manages the clinical functions. This essentially separates the platform into 2 functionally different modules with the doctor / physician user using mainly the EMR module and the clinic manager and assistants using the CMS module.

In terms of integration with government portals such as MHCP and NEHR, GPConnect has performed exceedingly well and this translates to secure, smooth and seamless claims processing for government initiatives such as CHAS. However, there is little to no integration with TPA/Private insurers, as such clinics who have a large pool of TPA/insurance covered patients will have to devote significant time and resources in the area of billing such as requiring them to log into a separate system and manually calculate co-payment / billing instructions. Registration of new patients is also quick and requires only the patient’s NRIC to auto populate other key data fields from the national databases, which in turn ensures a high accuracy rate and information fidelity.

One particular strength of GPConnect that the CMS Sutra team considers exceptional is the usage of a downtime module that is able to be deployed in the event of any service breakdowns to minimize disruptions to clinic workflow. This means that the clinic is able to remotely continue operations until the full system is back online to synchronize with the servers. GPConnect is also able to perform multiple functions within a single clinical entry (i.e Health Plan Generation, Screen for Life and NAIS Vaccinations without the need to create multiple entries).

While GPConnect may seem to have a steeper learning curve not being an all-in-one system, as well as clinic doctor-owners using a different module and will be less likely able to help new clinic assistant hires in their separate modules, there is also a very supportive onboarding process for new clinics with both pre-training as well as on-site support during onboarding. Alongside a helpdesk, GPConnect also features an e-ticketing system for active follow-ups on issues a clinic may be facing.

For Clinics with workload mainly focused on CHAS and HealthierSG, GPConnect is a stable system that is very well structured for governmental workflows.
