SGiMED Hummingbird

With many new system integrations added throughout the Cycle 2 review period and with SGiMED Hummingbird CMS being a CMS that launches frequent updates to improve the response and functionality of its system,  the CMS Sutra project team is very keen to look at what users have to say about SGiMED Hummingbird CMS.

Ease of Use, NEHR and Meeting Grant Requirements

SGiMED Hummingbird CMS is one of the higher scoring CMSes in being easy to use with all the new HealthierSG features added. This system delivers a very accurate HealthierSG enrolled patient list with 80.2% of our user survey responses rating it a 4 to 5 stars. This is a key aspect in the whole HealthierSG clinic workflow as it helps deconflict additional administrative waiting times for clinics to process missing data or errors.

With close to half (48.4%) of our respondents rating an above average likelihood and ease of achieving the MOH GP-IT Grant, SGiMED is a reliable system that is able to deliver the requirements needed to achieve the MOH GP-IT grant.  Findings from our survey reflect that more than 53.1% of SGiMED users rated SGiMED’s ability to help them meet the NEHR timeliness criteria with a score of 4 to 5 stars, while 54.8% of users rated 4 to 5 stars for its ability to meet NEHR accuracy standards contribution criteria (i.e. ≥ 70% submissions meet the national coding standard).

Health Plan, Inventory and HealthierSG Whitelist Drugs

In terms of the Health Plan Generation module, over two thirds of survey respondents (67.7%) rated 4 to 5 stars on the ease of creating and/or updating HealthierSG Health Plans using the CMS, this is very notable alongside a very accurate HealthierSG enrolled patient list, with only 6.4% of users scoring 2 or less stars, reflecting a very smooth operational Health Plan Generation module.

While SDD mapping is self-coded, it is not a difficult task as SGiMED offers a pre-generated template where users only need to fill in certain empty fields like drug names. Our College reviewers have expressed that this is a quick and simple task to set up and functions well with no issues in drug dispensing. Inventory checking for HealthierSG whitelisted drugs is also smooth, and no issues have been reported regarding multiple inventory management.

SGiMED has shown some promising strengths in integrating many of the HealthierSG modules in this cycle of CMS Sutra. Once a feature heavy CMS which had many complex functions, they seem to have found a better balance in identifying the key elements for GP clinics to function well as they move towards HealthierSG.

System Stability, User Support and Perceived Value

While updates are still frequent and service disruptions do occur, we advise users not to rush to click away from the update logs while starting their clinic sessions in order to stay informed of the system changes. It would be beneficial if SGiMED could better inform users of changelogs to keep them well informed of fixes, as well as where their button and tabs have gone to after version updates. Nevertheless, our reviewers report that the SGiMED team is generally responsive during system downtimes.

Summary

In summary, SGiMED has made good progress across various functionalities and remains one of the more user-friendly CMS options. However, some users do report stability issues that can crop up from time to time. We hope the SGiMED team can continue to invest efforts in minimizing service disruptions.
