Cervical cancer is a highly preventable disease, yet it remains the 10th most common cancer among Singaporean women. This paper examines the evolution of Cervical Screen Singapore (CSS), which was launched in 2004. In view of the emerging evidence on the advantages of HPV primary screening compared to cytology-only screening for primary cervical cancer screening, the guideline underwent a major update in 2019.
