Abstract

we describe a case of a 41-year-old Chinese male who was seen in our department for fever, rash, and abdominal pain. He was found to have acute acalculous cholecytitis secondary to Dengue Haemorrahgic Fever. Acalculous cholecystitis can occur in dengue fever and dengue haemorrhagic fever. Treatment is conservative unless there is no resolution. In the context of Singapore with dengue fever and DengueHaemorrhagic fever being highly endemic, there is a need to be familiar with the atypical presentation of this common disease.
