Dietary modification plays an important role in both prevention and management of non-communicable chronic diseases. general Practitioners have the opportunity to provide advice on dietary modification during consultations. They can use the Recommended Dietary Allowances and Food-based Dietary guidelines to assess a patient’s diet and provide relevant advice. In addition, there are other resources from the Health Promotion board that general Practitioners can use to assist their patients in preventing and managing chronic diseases.
